sure full leathers are better, but it's not a bad in-between.

It was an abrasion injury. She landed on her knee and slid forward. The hit/slide ripped her skin apart. Jeans and all. She was going really slow, it was just the bump to the ground that did it.




Denim will survive a couple of feet in a slide at best. You don't seem to think this is true, which I don't understand at all.

And yes, I might go 2 blocks up the street to the bank on a 25 mph street wearing jeans, but I know full well that I'm going to get some rash if I somehow manage to fall down on my way there and back. If I'm going to go faster than 25 mph or more than 2 blocks, I've got my overpants on. I wear them every single day I commute. Mesh in the summer, insulated in the winter. I ride all year round.

Come on now, I never proposed any such thing. I have said and maintain that jeans are better than nothing...period. I've never said anything else. They are good enough for me depending on what type of riding I'll be doing and what my destination will be. I'm not trying to convince anyone to not wear overpants to drive down their driveway and check the mail. You can ride to the bank in your underwear if you want. I don't care what you wear to ride, you seem to be obsessed with what I or my gf wears to ride. That's the difference.

Kaneman says that I started this fight by posting a joke thread that my gf is a squid. Heck, I just wanted to post some cute (imo) pics of my girlfriend wearing a helmet and shorts to ride to the pool... on the other side of the apt complex btw.

I DO!!!! I use the Icon Field Armor knee armor and after 4 crashes, I have zero knee injury! Nice units and very comfortable!

U huh! It's about 1/4 mile and I worry more about head injury than I'll ever worry about road rash. I wear a helmet to snowboard, bike and rollerblade. Like I keep saying everyone has their own safety priorities.

I have the Dainese version... very protective but they can give you a serious case of monkey butt! Leathers might be better...

I am assuming people wear them OVER jeans? Cuz unless your wearing gangsta pants there's no way they'll fit underneath.
