I have a friend who refuses to open a bank account because she says she doesnt want to pay the, inevitable for her, overdraft fees. So she walks around with a wad of cash which I tell her is stupid but she wont listen.

Interesting. What kind of work does she do? How does she pay her bills?

Im actually not sure how she pays her bills, Im guessing she goes to the place and pays in person. She used to work at the front desk at the company I was working at but they went out of business so shes unemployed now.

I don't think they do. If someone without an account cashes a check that bounces, is bad, or is forged and the bank cannot contact them to get the money back they have video of what the person looks like and a thumbprint to give to the police. ID can be faked, video and a thumbprint are more difficult.
