I wish we had options... fucking verizon. I looked into replacing Directv with Dish, but the pricing was basically the same. Blah.

Good work, Comcast is shit. My sister in MI pays them close to $150 for TV/internet.
For those prices, I'll just keep getting all my internet from my unlimited laptop card which is $65-70/month. That way I can travel with it instead of being limited to home use. Blowing $100+ for home-based internet is dumb unless you live with other people who need it as well. Is my laptop broadband slow, sure, but I don't play video games or dowload pr0n so I don't really care. |

I just got an Address Not Found message. I assume that means they don't over it here either. Time warner is starting to hurt price wise.. that would have been a nice alternative for sure.

Add to that a $50 Sears gift card I got for switching from Georgia Natural Gas to Gas South, and I got locked in at a lower rate per therm. That one was easy, they just mailed me an offer.

We don't have many options and I'm still working on a year's free subscription to cable that I won at a hockey game.
But damn does it piss me off that I can't order just ONE channel. Noooo...if I want that channel I also have to take it with about 4 others that I don't want and will never watch. *fist shake* |

WTF?!? LOL Everybody wants to pay me to earn my business.
Yesterday I got an offer in the mail from Chase Bank to open a checking account with them. I'll get $100 credit to my account if I just use their debit card 5 times the first month OR setup a direct deposit. It's tempting, except the closest branch is here by my work and their network of ATMs in this area looks weak. |

Fuck you, DirecTV. Eat shit and die.
Have had them for a year now and they suck balls. Where do I start? When I first signed up with them I used the friend referral to get $100 off service. I did that and even though I had received an automated e-mail after signing up for their service online which showed the referral credit, it never showed up on my statement. I asked them and they told me I didn't use the referral site. I sent them the e-mail I received and they told me it wasn't proof, it could have been edited. I asked them to check their e-mail server logs, etc. and they said that automated messages such as those aren't trackable. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they contacted me and told me I would get the credit, as a show of good faith, blah blah blah. A few months later, my neighbors switched to them and used me as a referral. Same shit happenned to them. I think they gave up, though. Every time we get a steady rain our signal goes out. Snow as well. Now, we bought a new HD TV for our bedroom and I wanted to add an HD receiver to my system and they are insisting I not only pay for the box, but then pay a $5/month "lease" fee, and then on top of that commit to 24 more months. Plus a $50 "installation" fee for some schmuck to connect an HDMI cable from the box to our TV. That was the final straw. Signing up with Comcast now. They are running a special on the HD XF Premier triple play package that includes all movie channels, all HD channels, Net, voice, HD DVR service, etc. - the works. All for less than what I pay for AT&T and DirecTV now. And it's locked in for 2 years. Plus I get a $250 Visa card (more than enough to cover my early cancellation fee with DirecTV) and a free HD Flip video recorder. Merry Christmas to me, I'm free from those cocksuckers at DirecTV. |

I think they all suck.
The TV/internet providers are becoming like the cell phone carriers: try to lock you into a contract. Fuck that. Maybe if they would focus more on client service and retention they wouldn't have to give ridiculous incentives to make people switch from A-B-C and back to A. Until then, be prepared to jump around every year or so.
