it powers up... fully boots... but the screen no longer works... as a touch phone it's useless...

the insurance has it on back order, they offered to replace it with an Eris...

You can't get a different phone through insurance so why would breaking your phone be mentioned. You don't go through the stores to get a broke phone replaced. You go through a 3rd party.

Latest and greatest dont come out as fast as you think. Say a new phone comes out every 6 months. Bill is $95 a month. I buy a new phone for $200 with renewing my 2 year contract. So I paid $200 and the phone really cost $600. So they're out $400.

New phone hits the store 6 months later. In 6 months I've paid almost $600. They've made their money off the phone and then some.
