I've had the same K&N air filter on my Suzuki since 1982, and it's pretty dusty out here. Just wash, dry, and oil.

Does it die when the clutch is pulled in or when the bike leans around a corner?

When clutch pulled in. I checked the idle, it was way low...like dipping down too 800-900 rpm on occasion. Took it back up to spec 1250-1350, sooo much smoother. Then added some FI cleaner.
