Medical people: How long is too long to run a fever?
I've already been to the doctor once and he sent me on my way with scripts for Motrin and cough syrup. I've been running a fever since wed night between 102-103. I take a Motrin 800 every 6-8 hours to help control it.
Started Wed with a horrible headache, and then wed night the fever started, along with chills, whole body hurts, etc. Thur night I developed a cough. Not a wet or wheezy cough, just like I have to clear my throat and can't no matter how hard I cough. No runny nose or sinus issues, no vomiting or diarrhea normally associated with the flu. Doc did two chest xrays, both clear. Ears, throat, lungs all fine. But I'm still running this fever and I feel horrible. How long is too long to run a fever? Any ideas on what I might have?
