You cant be that stupid.
Read this thread on another forum just now...its been posted for a few hours by now. He goes on to say he rolled it away from the road to hide it. Ok...but whats to stop the countless of assholes that just read it all over the internet to stealing it. You know this bike is gone....
So I'm riding back from Philadelphia to Boston. I'm about 40 minutes from Hartford, 140 miles or so from Boston, I hear a clink and my Ninja 250 drops from 10,000RPM to 5000RPM in a matter of 3 seconds, now this is kind of dangerous since the highway has a fair number of cars. The 5000RPMs just disappear as the engine shuts off completely. I managed to pull the motorcycle over to the side. I looked at the engine heat indicator and it said it was kind of hot but not in the red. I thought that was kind of weird since during the entire trip (given that it was cold), the engine temperature never got over halfway hot. I let my engine cool for 5-10 minutes then tried starting it. I manage to get it to start with some trouble and I give it a bit of gas so it won't die...it does die literally. I hear a really loud ping and the bottom of the motorcycle erupts in white smoke. I was later told by a fellow biker, who I didn't know, (who happened to be driving) that there was a hole in the bottom of my engine casing...he said he'd never seen that before in his years as a mechanic...especially considering that I had only had 7700 miles total on my 2003 Ninja250. He guessed based upon piecing together what he could find nearby of the shattered part that had shot through the engine casing to shatter on the floor that the something arm had broken off completely. It transmitted the power of the pistons. He also said that the engine was completely dead as in I would need a completely engine replacement if my bike were to work... I had just ridden from Boston to Pittsburgh, the next day Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, and today, the next day, from Philadelphia to Boston. Is it just me or do I smell defect? Albeit my bike is 5 years old but only 7700 miles. I just had everything overhauled, carbs cleaned, etc, oil changed, etc, new rear tire. Not to mention, the mechanics would never have noticed something wrong "inside" of the engine unless something did go wrong, right? Also, my bike is now stuck out on I-91N on the grass and I don't know how to get it back to Boston...what do people usually do...a tow truck will ass rape me if I use them... What should I do? I feel so lost...I know the hankering to ride will hit me strong in the next 3-4 days since its my stress relief tool and here it is causing me a whole load of stress on top of all the other stress I have in my life... I also don't know how to take care of my baby and get it here. Help pleaseeeee, I'm so lost :'-( |
