Really really stupid 'college student' soliciting

Canibeyou made me a really cool sign a few years ago. It says "No Soliciting" and is right beside my front door at eye level. You can't miss it!

Thursday night around 8:30 the doorbell rings. It's a young man carrying a clipboard - the type you see for magazine sales.

He starts his routine, "Hi I'm Andre. I'm a college student..." I cut him off there. I pointed at the sign and said, "Do you see this sign?"

He looked at me and said, "Yes, but I don't smoke."

I told him that was SOLICITING - which means you are trying to sell me something.

As I am closing the door he says, "But... it's for education!!"

Yep, he needs some too!!
