Regret is the name of that which you feel the instant the front end pushes beyond the point-of-no-return in the instant before you contact the pavement...

Shame is the name of that which you feel as the bike topples over on you in front of that cool girl who (used to) like you.....

Pride and exhilaration is what you feel after dragging your knee the first time....

Relief is what you feel while you stop shaking from the adrenaline after you use all your skills and training to narrowly miss the guy coming 'round the blind turn in the wrong lane....
