Worth it?

A friend of my wife is gonna get a dirt bike for her kid. He is 14 around 6' 150lbs and has got his mind dead set on this http://flint.craigslist.org/mcy/1967706149.html

She said that its a lot of money for her and it will be the kids first dirtbike but not the first time riding. He has been riding with his friends. It looks like a nice bike but I have a few problems, 1) seems like a lot to spend on a "first" bike 2) being that its small and his first he'll probably bore with it easy and want something bigger and stronger fairly quick as he is hitting the growth years. 3)buying it all tricked out takes the fun out of tinkering with a new-to-you toy.

So does it look like it would still be something good for this kid?
