I wore sneakers the first time... my Adidas running shoes actually. they slipped like crazy on the real steep shit...

I got some Merrel hiking shoes... work awesome wore those the 2nd and 3rd hikes...

and yesterday I wore my American Eagle boots... as my ankle is still twice it's size from my wreck. so I needed the support. they did awesome... didn't slip once.

the rock is sand stone... and so there's alot of technique to it... if you try and crawl up it you'll slide down... as you've spread your weight out over 4 points (your hands and your feet) and your hands don't grip all that well.

so if you stand... your weight is on your shoes which grip well... and you can just walk up... but you gotta resist the urge to go up on your toes... just keep you feet as flat as possible to have more gripping surface...

lots of trial and error for me...
