damn still looks like that tank was royally fucked up... I wouldn't trust those sliders at 100+ by looking at that wrecked photo...

Considering the violence of that particular crash, they did a great job. If they weren't there, the tank would have been completely destroyed/split and likely ignited... not just on this particular bike, but on many sportbikes.
