More Posts About The Intimate Details Of My Life...Don't Look Marko!
Okay, me and the GF were thinking about going to Daytona for bike week/Spring Break but a sweet deal on a vacation to Jamaica came up... For about $2,000 we can stay just off Montego bay for 8 night, all inclusive, including flights. I know the obvious choice would be for Jamaica but I've only been to the Bahamas. Has anyone here been to Jamaica and what do you think? I've heard that it's a lot like Mexico, in that it's kinda nasty/dirty/dangerous if you stray from the tourist zone. Any thoughts, opinions, insults?

Around the resorts is nice and awesome, outside of them can get sketchy quick. I would pick it over Daytona.

i have been to belize. and its kinda the same way, but then again, i like the dirty trashy just outside of the tourist area, really gives you a feel for the culture and heritage for the area, most of the time because its not "dirty or trashy" but just not as modern as the USA and actually has some shred of history left

Spent some time around Negril.
I found it to be less nasty/dirty/dangerous the FARTHER you got from the main tourist areas. JC

Yeah, the scammers like to hang out right outside the all inclusives, the further you get away from that shit is where you find the normal folk.

Thanks! I'm leaning that way but the gf has never been to Bike Week so she's kinda excited about the whole thing...
I also like getting away from the tourist areas but I wouldn't want to drag her pampered ass around there. Besides, it's Spring Break and there's bound to be some crazy bitches in the area... |

I stayed in Montego Bay for about a week and we didn't stay at a resort, just a regular hotel.
It's just like all the other tourist countries. Really nice at the resorts and the beaches(Doctors Cave beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen), you will get hassled to buy weed and to braid your girls hair near the touristy places and then when you get farther away from the tourist stuff they just wonder why the damn Americans are wandering around unsupervised. I'd go again. |
