Bored with riding????
One of the advantages of having the hobby I have is that I get to meet and talk to a bucketful of bikers, both current or former. I say former, because many of the people I buy bikes from are “getting out” of the motorcycle scene. While I am sensitive to riders who quit for numerous reasons (finances, a close call, a baby on the way, disability, ect.), what I have a hard time comprehending is when an owner tells me he’s selling and giving up biking because (s)he’s “bored” with riding.
No comprende’, compadre. Does not compute. Blue screen. Reboot. I don’t know how many miles I’ve ridden on two wheels; I’ve not kept track. I do know that I have literally worn out a number of bikes and ridden many miles on a whole bunch more. I also know I’ve felt a whole lot of things during my career of riding; from excitement to awe to fear to discomfort to joy to disappointment to ….., well, you get the idea. But never boredom. Not once. Never. Nada. As old as I am, I seem to measure my life into two segments; BB and AB (Before Bikes and After Bikes). I can virtually measure major events in my life by what I was riding and the memorable rides I had during each period or event (and during my early years, by what injuries I had from which mistakes I made). To me, it never matters much what the road looks like on the map; long and straight interstate or twisty blue wiggles that resemble the varicose veins marking the passage of years on my legs; to me, each road and trip that I take holds the promise of challenge and potential adventure no matter where it takes me, because motorcycling and doing it well requires all my attention, care and skill. What’s to be boring about that? How ‘bout you?

I'm never bored riding, but I do find it to be a pain sometimes. Often I will just take the car rather than get all my gear out.

Those people (to me) aren't riders at heart
My BIL is a good example of that..THOUGHT he wanted a bike at 28...got an F4i and rode it for a year..then sold it because it was "boring" Me: I've had a bike since 8yrs old, and can't/won't imagine my life without one

this. Sometimes I just get lazy and am smart enough to know that "Lazy" = bad on a motorcycle.

Yeah. I just won't ride without the proper gear on. I've crashed. I know the benefits of it. So if I feel lazy I just roll in the Jeep with the AC cranked.

I got bored with riding a few years ago. All my regular riding buddies got rid of their bikes, and left me high and dry. So I'm all alone, nobody to ride with and it does get boring.
