Hey,I was looking at getting another helmet, Shark RSX Holyang, and looked up the weight situation. I was kinda surprised by what I found. Figures are from Helmet Harbor so if you want to argue about it contact them. Note the weights are for mediums except Schubert.

Fit has always been most important to me over weight. It is interesting to see shark top the list though.

As far as weight,if I get the Shark,I'll have number 3,4,and 5 on the list. I'll never have 1 or 2 'cause I've never been crazy with the design of those helmets. Last edited by Amber Lamps; 05-09-2008 at 01:15 PM.. |

Nice to see my RF-1000 is on the lighter side. I always thought HJC/KBC were heavier.
As always though, fit is the most important factor

Hey yea, what the fuck? Hmmmm who's bullshitting us? Although, that light of a helmet sounds a little far fetched.... I wonder if they're weighing the the extra smalls. Remember the weights on HH are for MEDIUMS!

I'm sure every manufacturer fudges on weight a little just like the bike manufacturers do. HH is independent so I have to assume those weights are correct. However I picked one up and it felt quite a bit lighter than my Shoei TZ-R

One thing I've noticed is I think it has something to do with the center of gravity or how the helmet "carries" the weight. I agree that I can't see any reason for HH to lie about the figures considering they carry all of the different helmets for sale except Shark which is on closeout with them I think.
