Family yes, friends, not many.
Regardless of whether it's insured or not, it's not worth risking being without a vehicle or losing a friend because something happened and they weren't manning up to take care of it. Then again, I guess they wouldn't really be friends in that case. |

Family? Sure, until they do something to lose the privilege. My mother borrows my pickup and smoked in it. She can't borrow my vehicles anymore.
OTOH I lent it to a friend, to drive down to Loudon and race.

I once kicked a friend out of my car, 100 miles from home, because he lit up after I told him that if he needed to smoke, just ask me and I'd pull over for him. Took him a bit before he realized that I was serious.

I don't lend my truck. I will offer to help and bring the truck, but I won't turn over the keys

I guess this is it. Someone asked my opinion, I would be hesitant only because the person that asked her doesn't take care of their own stuff...

Parents, yes. They have an almost identical truck.
Sister/BIL, hell no. Biggest thing they drive is a minivan. They just don't get big vehicles. Friends, depends on: 1. how they treat there shit 2. why they want to borrow it 3. If the have experience driving a large vehicle. 4. If they know how to drive a diesel, or at least understand and follow directions when given. Yes it's just a truck. Yes it's insured. BUT, it's not worth getting it wrecked and possibly hurting someone else cause they couldn't handle driving a vehicle of that size. |
