Two long haired cats here. I feel your pain.

This is why we live in 800 sq ft. There is only so many places the hair can go. It's the same amount, just less space I have to vacuum.

The reason you live in a small place is because your cats shed? I would think that is you lived an a larger home the hair would be spread out and less noticeable.

Okay, no that is not necessariy the reason.

I am going to vacuum once a week no matter what. So, in the 800 sq ft place it takes me all of 10 minutes to vacuum the whole place. Where as in the 1800 sq ft house it would take me 25 minutes.

In relation to dirt and hair, the bin is huge; more than large enough to hold what's on the typcial floor. There's no question it works, you can see what it picks up. We keep a rather clean house in the first place, so it never comes close to filling up the bin. We use it to keep the floors clean of pet hair and tracked-in dirt during the week, between weekend vacuuming.

I love my Roomba!!! Use it exactly as you do. Love Scooba too until it just stopped, won't even turn on.

I have 2 large dogs and although Rottweiler hair always seem to be everywhere it doesn't touch the dust from my African Grey. They actually make dust.. It keeps them water repellent. I vacuum 3 times a week. I am actively looking for a home for her. Had her 15 years, won't let me pet her (likes men) and I will not have that dust all inside my cabin. She deserves to be with someone who can handle her and that's never been me. That will get me down to 2 dogs, 1 parrot, and one kid!!

Not much. Biggest problem is that with 4 cats and two long-haired humans, I have to cut hair off the brushes every time it runs. Well every time it ran, because it only lasted 3 months or so Gets a "POS" rating from me.

I've only heard that they suck (or actually, don't suck), but apparently they provide endless entertainment for cats, however. Go to YouTube and look up "Roomba Cat".

This is why I want a dog that doesn't shed that much.

Growing up I thought it was normal for you mom to vacuum twice a day.
