agreed.
Look, the horse didn't get put down "because it lost." It had an injury, TWO major injuries..... It was the humane thing to do.... One broken ankle? sure... patch him up, put him out on the farm for a family to adopt or something, the horse would never race professionally again.... two??? nah, I'm sorry, but it had to be done. |

It's a shame but in the end it was more humane to put the animal down. Did I hear right that 8 Belles is only the third filly to run in the derby? That's impressive.
Also, for a comparison, the bones that make up the ankle of a horse are actually smaller in total size than the bones which make up a human ankle. Their ankles are their weakest point.

It is truly sad though. I grew up riding, I also raced in barrels, pole bending and different fast paced riding. So I have seen it in that aspect too. |

OOOO, yeah. Grew up riding horseback. Came from a family who are big into rodeos. My cousin was Miss ND rodeo queen for about 4 years....
I have a horse at my parents place but never really get to ride much anymore. Way to busy. Have to break in the horse to. She's only green broke so not riding her yet.... |

The real problem with horses is the girls.
ALL girls who ride horses are fucking insane. They are just plain nuts. And they are usually extremely sexual and good/fun in bed as well. Then you just have to get rid of them somehow, because they're fucking nuts.

Cutty rode horse alot in high school. Don't know if I would put him on Micky though. She's still being ground broke basically. Mom and I are hoping to get riding her by the end of this summer. |
