That is exactly why ours had their ears done. If you look at any of the show or working dogs your hard pressed to find one that isn't cropped.

We had Bane's ears done fairly early and we were very protective. We traveled to philly to have them done and we went through pre-surgery bloodwork to ensure no negative reactions to the anesthesia. He never showed any signs of discomfort when we brought him home other than when we pulled the tape off. Any man will tell you pulling tape off hair hurts. We didn't have to put a cone on him or anything he didn't mess with them.

Bianca's were done before we bought her. She developed a hematoma later that had to be removed. She got it from jumping and playing with Bane. Had her ear been there she probably would have ripped it.

Bane is protection trained and is pretty damn adept with search and rescue excercises. We're letting Bianca hang out a bit until her personality develops a little more but she loves the sleeve.

The Cane Corso was just accepted into the AKC this year we're hoping it doesn't have any negative implications for the breed.

Miz,

I don't know if you have any experience with boxers, but how do they compare to boxers? Ever since you guys got Bane, they've been gaining my interest..

Cuddle bug babies with the possibility of mayhem if provoked??

Only in in passing my step father had one when he was a kid. He talks about him the way I talk about Isis. Like he is the wonder dog

I've noticed that most of the bully breeds have similar qualities. Ninjakel has told us stories about her two that are similiar to ours and the pit bull I owned.

When I first started researching breeders to buy Bane I asked one to tell me about their personality. He told me they will go if you want to go but they are more than willing to just lay on the couch all day.

It's so true if lounging were an olympic sport these two would be gold medalists. On the same note they love to run around and screw with each other.

They do not bark when you enter the house you just hear the thump of them get off the bed after your already to far in to get out if you tried to escape after breaking in.

It's funny, Brinks doesn't bark when I come home. And he always knows when it's me or the wife. However, anybody else even gets near the house he's a barking mad man. Like "LET ME EAT THEM".

Then, when I come over, the pissing starts. He gets so excited that his rough-housin buddy has come over when I am there. He is a very fun dog to rough around with. Just when he starts to get a little excited and starts to use the chompers he realizes what he's about to do and backs off. Very good dog to those that love him, but, damn I feel sorry for some dumb criminal that tries anything at your house. Other than the multiple gun barrels he will be looking down.

This again is TRUTH.... that bark is felt down somewhere right behind your bellybutton and feels like it could pull your heart from your chest.

We now have had about 6 people who wanted to take brinks home with them down here in Tenn. My bud's, friend was seriously saying... "I want this dog". Plus EVERY time we get him out of the car to go potty, we have people stopping us. It's like he's a celebrity

They are nice looking dogs, but I gotta say I prefer the ears versus the cropped.

Hopefully one day I'll get to see one in person!
