no theyre just renaming it "literbikes". the "superbike" series will be "Daytona Superbikes" which is like MotoST but allowing 600's.

he's talking about the power band difference between an I4 and Vtwin.
a twin has much more low end grunt, but tops out early, and the I4 doenst usually get any power until its up in the 6-7-8 k range. Trip was making a point that in recent years the I4's have allowed for more power in the lower revs, as opposed to the older I4's that were lacking much more. |

Probably power delivery and size/ergos. Newer 600cc supersports are supposed to have no grunt down low, so you have to spin them to umpteen thousand RPMS to build real power- like the R6 with its ~17000RPM redline. On the ergo side, there's the "monkey humping a football" factor. Older 600s are slightly larger with higher bars, lower footpegs, and more cushy seats.
