Currently I am working to help save the city.
For some reason, the damn place just won't stay saved Otherwise mine is similar to derfs for the start. I also help transfer hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment from one unit to another, only to transfer the same stuff back a few months later. And I help ensure that we have all the supplies needed for the company to operate efficiently. |

I've been a machinist for over 30 years. So I get to "play around" with little CNC lathes like this.
The lathe is 60 hp, has a 21" hydraulic chuck and a 12 station tool changer. The part in the lathe is a stainless steel cyntrifical casting that is 30 inches in diameter and 62" long. It weighs over 5500 lbs. The raw ( unmachined ) casting cost over $25,000 before I started turning it. Sometimes our salesman will get a job and come out and say " I just won this bid, how we going to do this?" Then you brainstorm and come up with a set up like this The face plate is 40" in diameter and the flange has a radius cut in it for a large ball type valve. Jeff |

We get slow this time of the month every month. We get hella busy right before the first and kinda busy right before the 16th. I bust my ass for about 6 days out of the month and then the others I try real hard to look busy.

I sell candles. And answer phones. And job hunt. And surf the interweb. And drive kids around. And keep Louie on track. And cook. And clean (well, not so much that). And laundry. And, well, the list goes on and on.

I play with large amounts of data and perform root cause analysis and provide statistics on outcomes, trends, and drivers in leaves of absence to large employers. I then use that data to make recommendations on actions they can take to help keep their employees healthy (example, if I see a group has a high incidence of prostate cancer I'd recommend something like partnership with their medical ins. carrier to set up pre-screening and wellness programs... simple example but it works).
I also get yelled at a lot because I end up doing a million other things that fall outside of my role as well.

I spend a lot of time explaining to people WHY we have to tell a group something that sales people don't think they'll want to hear.

Our salesman has been know to say ( not exact wording) talking to customer " Yes sir, we can do that without a problem and have it to you in under a week" After he hangs up the phone and comes into the shop " Hey Jeff, I just got this job and I don't have a clue to how to do it. I hope you can figure it out because you have to make it" ~~~~~~~~~~ Here's some other shiny parts Parts for a pharmaceutical company Roller for a pretzel company.
