I hate digging!!!
So last fall I noticed the sump pump was spitting out the over flow spout... a little more than I remember... hmmmm
This past winter, it was completely spitting out... made an icey mess in the backyard. But couldn't do shit about it with frozen ground. So this is what I removed. The 22.5/45 elbows had tons of calcium build up inside... stopping the flow of water. Also, stupid Sked 30 thin crap!! Oh and classic dinner when working hard. I hate digging... I think I mentioned that... especially in clay! My new sked 40 thicker job is much better. Even added a full 3" clean out in line as well. All of which will be just barely barried. The new crazy elbows... can't see it anymore, but there is a 30 to 40 bushing on the old pipe... going downward at a 45* angle downward into the neighbors yard and the larger storm drain... Of coarse we tested the downward 45* to ensure good flow. Installed it all and test it as well. 3' deep 17' long $45 in PVC The joys of home ownership. I still hate digging. |

My sump pump plumbing is all exposed. Straight up out of the basement along the wall, under the deck and then plain old sump pump hose into the yard. No digging required.

You know...after reading this I think mine is very similar to this. I admit I don't know much about a sump pump but since my house has one I guess I better look into it. I have what looks like a 55 gallon lid looking thing in the concrete floor in a room off of the garage with all of the pvc pipe coming in and out of it but I'm not sure where/which way it actually exits from there. You say "sump pump hose into the yard"...as in an exposed hose laying on the ground ? I don't have that but after seeing this thread I'm going to look into it for sure. |
