Stolen bike recovered 10 months later by forum (crazy cool thread)
http://pnwriders.com/motorcycle-talk...87508-a-2.html
Great story here. Guy has uniquely modified 996 Duc stolen. Another forum member sees the bike on craigslist remembers the post and contacts the OP. Thief has switched the frame with a fresh VIN. OP contacts police and is able to prove ownership of the bike as well as very detailed knowledge of it, including every ding, scratch, nut and bolt. Thief gets driven away by cops in handcuffs. Bike recovered: Thief arrested

I'm glad he found it, but really...liability only?! Who the hell man..
I keep full coverage on everything I own until it's to the point I won't *take it in the shorts* as he so eloquently put it. That's just retarded to have a nice bike like that and put liability on it. You're just ASKING for trouble. As was demonstrated here. Stupid.

I have liability on my CBR, but it would cost about half of what I paid for the bike for full coverage. Its just not worth it to me to have already spend just about 1 1/2 times what I paid for the bike and never used it.
The KLR has full coverage, but that was only $150/year

That's awesome... and if you're going to have liability only, you should opt for comprehensive which generally covers theft... and it's cheap.

Motherfucker who stole it wants "His" Frame back even though it's the guys bike...WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE.
The OP Said he might have to part it out because of this...I'm not sure what people think anymore...I'd be smacking a bitch if he had the balls to ask for "His" Frame back

I'm sure it' won't go anywhere, or at least I hope it doesn't.. It'd be a pretty fucked up scenario otherwise.

Nope, not in pieces, but certainly damaged to where it could never be used again. "But officer, that was the way I received it"
