Herald Square on 34 th st. the E,F,R,V,N,1,9 trains go there. Stop in at Macy's they always have great decorations in there!

Chinatown and Little Italy (right next to each other)
Gina has some good suggestions. They actually just fired up the Macy's windowside decorations a week ago. (Bindhu and I were there earlier tonight exchanging some registry stuff and they're pretty cool.)

Personally I hate times square, but if you've never seen it at least walk through it.

Def go see the xmas tree at Roc Ctr, and go ice skating if you have time - be prepared however as there will be a wait. It's a huge tourist attraction. If you're dead set on some ice skating, take a stroll down to Bryant park (42nd and 6th) and there is usually less of a wait, and it's a bigger rink.

Central park is always beautiful, and if you feel like getting lost in the Met that's always fun.

Book a show on/off broadway if you can for Monday night. (telecharge.com will hook you up). There are a ton of good shows going on.

What kind of food are your favs? I'm sure I can recommend some restaurants for you.
