Did you seriously just start a thread making fun of someone who customized his bike? ![]() Maybe you're right; wide tires, chrome, flashy paint and other nonessential bits are a sign of stupidity. ![]()

Customizing a bike is one thing, turning it into a shitbox is another.

Its the anti-trip factor. That bike wasn't intended for it to be that way with a 330 tire. At least put the big tire for more grip due to big motor mods. Exactly! |

Others feel the same about Harleys. Chrome on Ducatis. Streetfighters. Etc...

In my submission its a matter of loosing sight of the bikes purpose. That type of custom would be good on a cruiser or chopper or as said... if that bike was a dragster with major motor mods.

I have read that those 330 kits can cost up to 40rwhp, so it would never go on a dragster.

Perhaps for more traction with nos and turbo??
But from what you're saying... equals more stupid. |

Looks alone. The tires available in those sizes are worthless. You'd get better traction with a 200mm DOT race tire on a stock rim.

Devil's Advocate but isn't the whole point of customizing the transformation of one type of vehicle into another? Otherwise you are just "enhancing" the bike's normal tendencies.
Example; my bike- not a custom. I enhanced the bike's stock nature by adding rearsets, brake lines, suspension bits, etc. Example; GM's bike- not a custom. He enhanced the bike's nature by adding more chrome, etc. Example; This ugly fucking 'Busa- total custom. He took a crotch rocket/potential drag bike and turned it into a blvd cruiser. Not my cup of tea but you cannot deny that it's a custom bike. ![]() Besides, who made the rule that all 'Busas have to be made into "drag bikes" or super sport tourers to be acceptable? |
