Let's recap:

1. Compares poor people to stray animals.

2. Implies that kids should lose their lunch money, if their parents don't attend PTA meetings. (Mind you, this is in a state with one of the worst, and under-funded, school systems in the country).

3. Later says he "has nothing against animals".

4. Claims remark was taken out of context. Don't they all...

Add it all up, spells douchebag to me.

I don't live in SC but I work in SC. The town I work in brags about having the 'best schools in SC.' Considering SC ranks so low nationally, what are they really saying?

"Look folks, if you receive goods or services from the government and you don't attend a parent-teacher conference, bam, you lose your benefits," he said. In a follow-up story, the Greenville News reports that Bauer said "he would penalize only adults and that he never advocated taking away a child's free or reduced-price lunch. His speech was about breaking the cycle of dependence on government aid, he said."
How does he propose to penalize the adults, then? And who is collecting exact attendance records at PTA meetings anyway?

He may have been a little extreme in his comparison, but I agree with his overall point about cutting back welfare.

Don't back-pedal now, Nancy.

Be a man, t.

Say it with me: I agree with his statement.

Period.

He's not a freeloader.
He's the pilot.
