Agreed.

Is the DA is trying to make a name for herself or some other motivation?

They claim that the bullying was "severe" but nothing descibed in the article was very severe. By those standards, 90% of the teenage girls in the country could be charged with bullying because thats pretty much all they do.

At least she killed herself and didn't pull a Columbine. Those little fuckers should be glad they are still a live. I'm not condoning murder, but I'm saying the outcome was in their favor on this one.

I was going to say the same thing. What sort of attitude would everyone have if she came in and shot up the school.

Bullying isn't the same as when most of us were in school. It's gotten a lot more aggressive (and is plastered everywhere thanks to youtube) and there is no outlet for it. You can't fight it out in school without everyone involved getting thrown in jail and forced to get a GED instead of a diploma. It either winds up like this or columbine. The courts are the only place we settle this shit now because a teacher or parent won't get involved because they would probably get in trouble too.

Phoebe was 15 (or whatever) and the boys are underage (17) so details may not be released.
Since we don't know whether the stat charge arose out of activities from a normal teenage relationship or if it was in the context of the bullying perhaps some should hold off on the making judgements in favor of the boys concerning the statuary rape charge.

Sounds to me like she played the whore for a group of boys, and then got made fun of for it.

Of course thats speculation, but if it is the case, the charge is ridiculous. Anyway, being able to charge a minor for having sex with a minor is an idiotic law to begin with.

This. And its one of the reasons we're circling the toilet as a society.

I just read a book called " 19 minutes" about a boy who is bullied so viciously that he goes into a school and starts shooting. Does a good job of depicting a life of the bullied. Makes a person feel for the shooter actually!
