Top of Mount Evans
The mountains got a bunch of snow last weekend, so my wife and her cousin wanted to hike up Mount Evans. We drove up there today with hiking boots, gloves, heavy jackets, and hats. We hiked from the end of the road to the top in half a foot of snow. When we came down I saw these bikers from St. Louis. The one guy on the bike was warming his hands with electric gloves. Some bikers kept their helmets on as they hiked to the top. The thermometer said 30 degrees, it was snowing, and the wind was at least 30mph. When we got back down to Denver, the temp was 85.
Do I take my bikes up there? I have, but my carbed bikes run like crap above 11,000 feet. These guys all had injected bikes and they said they ran great. But I bet they were down on power. I also saw five new Volkswagons that were being tested at altitude. They were all black and passed by too quickly to get a pic. Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

Wow. That is insane. I've always wanted to go out towards the rockies and see the mountains.
