I like Handcent for messaging as it's super customizable, atakephone is a cool phone/dialer app and Camera Fun Pro is one of the cooler camera apps I've seen. Of course a custom ROM is something else I'd strongly recommend. Been testing Gingerbread for my phone and official froyo isn't even out yet, lol.

You used the "word" shizzle.

Don't talk to me about clever.

I guess I've never gotten the "JUMP IN A THREAD THAT I HAVE NO INTEREST IN AND TELL EVERYONE THERE HOW STUPID THEY ARE" maneuver...I mean if you don't have an Android device that's cool but why rain on our parade? I guess my life is full enough that I don't feel the need to pop into threads that I have no interest in....

I was thinking that the free version just had limited options. Did it give you a time limit for use?

it's a time limit... BUT it never stopped me from using it... just popped up with an annoying message saying trial was over.

may have also turned off the auto album art download.

I bought it in the end... it's a kick ass app and figure I use it enough to spare the $

I use an app called Advanced Task Killer that kills all running apps that you select. There is always a bunch of crap running in the background, and it tends to slow the phone down a bit, esp if I am streaming music. For example typing this post while I am listening to Pandora would be excruciatingly slow with 10 or 15 things running at once. I run the ask killer every now & then to keep things moving along. Can't really prove it but I think it makes the battery last longer between charges too.

Depending on your phone, ATK and other task killers create more problems than they solve. They tend towards closing down everything connected to an app that's running, including shit that the phone needs for other services. Task Killers are bad news on any of the latest phones.
