I have to agree. Local hoarding story. Lady gets breast cancer moves in with the son. Her house is a disaster. She has 30+ animals. She says that the shelters would not take them so they just locked the house up and walked away. When the house gets foreclosed on only 3 cats are found alive. Why did she not leave the door open and at least give them a fighting chance.

Reminds me of some of the houses I rehabbed years ago... this is not a new problem. *twitch* Each time I went through these homes after closing to take "before" pictures I wanted to run away thinking "There's no place like home..."
