I went on vacation at work and some folks did the ol' take the keyboard and move all the keys around trick on me and I never noticed it

They were disappointed to say the least.

Gotta go with trackpads, myself. I can control them a lot better, though they can get annoying when the pressure sensors get too sensitive and all of a sudden you're typi . But back in the late 90's I saw a couple IBM laptops with trackballs. Those were the shit. I guess not enough people agreed with me, 'cause I've never seen them since, on a laptop.

With Dell they also have a touchpad, in addition to the trackpoint. They also give the option, in BIOS, to disable one or both.

Waddaya know; those courses to qualify as a Dell certified tech actually did teach me something, other than sales gab

I hate the knob and I hate track balls. [que lame IT joke] I tolerate the touch pads, but ultimately end up hooking a mouse/keyboard up to laptops. At least when indoors..
