I'm a systems engineer designing complex aircraft electronics, including navigation computers, flight deck displays, and computing platforms. For the most part I sit in a cubicle and write system and software level requirements. Occasionally I need to run down to the systems integration lab and test some flight software. As far as where I work.... I work for the largest company in the world... If you want detailed info on what I do, Google Flight Management Systems and EFIS displays.
Something like this. ![]() Last edited by Rider; 10-13-2008 at 12:14 PM.. |

That's a pretty hi tech tractor Cutty
![]() ![]() I'm a machinist and work on little lathes like this. It's 60 hp with a 21" hydraulic chuck and a 12 station tool changer. ![]() That's a centrifugal stainless steel casting for a nuclear plant. It's 60" long, 30" in diameter and weighs over 5500 lbs. The plain, raw casting cost over $25,000. Here's a part that was made for a pharmaceutical company. ![]() This unit was made to test ejection seats for the military. It's about 7' wide and stands over 12' tall ![]() Not everything I make is high tolerance. This roller is made for a pretzel company. The grooves are for salt ![]() ![]() Jeff |
