Yes but halfway into a 50 year career is still a long way to go.

Right...but, in my case, state gov't employment has it's benefits. And only requiring 30 years of service before retirement is NICE.

Oh yeah, I can get full retirement at 30 years here but why stop working? Statistics show you are going to die within5 years of retirement anyway. Might as well keep working.

I will drink all your beer then

I would even be happy with a semi retirement where maybe I do a few shifts a week and can also live off my investments, thats where were hoping logging all these hours now pays off.

I've not seen any info on Rider's death theory...in fact, I know several people who defy that logic. I'm not worried about it.

I dont have the stats offhand but have heard some companies complain how their pension funds are taking hits because people are living longer. Thats some nerve actualy living after you retire
