I learned we have people who like to eat gator meat, aka trash meat in the bayou. It amazes us cajuns, that we will eat damn near anything, yet we pass on the gator meat and still manage to sell that shit meat to tourists. The novelty wears off quick once you realize how crappy it tastes. It's a lot like squirrel meat that way.

Guess the few times I have had it (in New Orleans) it was just cooked right cause it was fall apart tender and wasn't chewy at all.

You know, I was just about to post this up. Every time I say this to someone up here or outside of Louisiana that I hate gator meat. They always tell me "You just need to have it cooked right." Yeah, I am sure that's exactly what I need to do, I was born and raised in cajun country. We don't know how to cook our native foods, we are stupid that way.......
