same here. i've been job hunting while i am not in school for probably 2 months now. nobody's fuckin hiring, even just for the christmas season.

I bought an Icon Mainframe helmet, TiMax gloves, and whatever the hell they call their boots, and I have none of it. The stitching on the gloves was complete fucking crap. After about 2 weeks or riding they started coming apart around the thumb and forefinger. I got them swapped out and the second pair did the same, plus the velcro on the gauntlet was pulling up. The helmet was cheaply made. While the rubberized paint look cool as hell when new, it chipped away easily. The liner was rough and always left my face feeling like I had been using fine grit sandpaper on it. The boots were ok, but even they were practically falling apart after about a year of moderate use. All of it ended up in the garbage with about a year of use.

On the other hand, my Teknic Chicane jacket and gloves are still useable, while my Shoei RF800 is still in one piece, but retired due to age. They were all bought in 1999 when I first started riding, and I'd trust all of it, dated lid included, over the crap that I got buying Icon.
