I do, however, use gmail.

Apparently, because I have friends that use Google Plus and also use gmail, I get to see all of their useless updates that I don't care about and didn't sign up to not see.

that's my Yahoo account... I get 150+ emails a day there... 99% spam... though they've improved their spam settings as most just go to the junk folder now.

google I don't get a single spam e-mail... maybe cause I don't give it out for anything... anytime a website requires it... I put my yahoo one in...

If your friends add your e-mail address to their circle(s) you will start getting updates and maybe an invite to sign up for Plus.

I had to laugh the other day. A lot of people like G+ better then Facebook because of the lack of games. I said it somewhere that there was too much money in the games for them not to have them. They now have games. The tab is on my G+ this morning.

They do say that you are asked if you want to post something from the game like a high score or something. It also said that the game will show you who from your circles have played the game recently.

IF they do it right it will be fine. As long as they show people that really played the game it won't be bad. And don't have it so your getting a shit load of messages from it.
