Not knowing the backgrounds of you two, I can't respond in the way I want, so I will refrain from posting anything that may be inaccurate.

I wasn't referring to you specifically......

And as for the "point", well the first post of this thread contained only 5-6 words, making a crack at men, so I responded in kind

What does my "background" have to do with it? Go for it man...

How many of you are on your first marriage? Nope

How many have been divorced more than once? Nope

How many are engaged or married after know their so for a very short time? Nope

Now, how many ppl think its wise or smart to follow the advice or opinion of those people in regards to relationships? Nope

I don't think it's wise or smart to listen to any ONE person's experiences or advice and base your decisions in life off of that.

The people who have been married only once - you can learn from them that they were either extremely lucky to find a perfect match right off the bat.. or learn from their extraordinary skills in communication, etc., that make their marriage work.

From those who have divorced, who married too young (like myself), who put up with bad relationships out of naivete' or whatever other reasons... cautionary tales.

Ultimately what matters is doing whatever makes YOU happy in your life. KNOW who it is you are marrying and know that they are who you want to be with FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. Whatever means by which you take to reach that end... that varies for every individual person.

I'm not saying I'm perfect. Finding Tracy was pure dumb luck. But while we are engaged.. we're not rushing into things either. Wedding date isn't until June 2011. But that is what we decided works best for US. I am by no means saying that we are what is best for everyone... just that my previous marriage was the worst possible thing for ME.

Ok, so you guys are not married. Honestly, after being engaged for awhile myself before I got married, that automatically makes me strike you off the marriage advice list. Sorry, it's different.

So the fact that I was married to someone for 4 years before that doesn't count?

Oh right, because since that one failed, I obviously don't know what I'm doing. Or because I'm 25, or whatever the fuck other excuses people come up with.

Okay, time for me to unsubscribe from this thread again. Because it's that shit that gets me pissed off.

I don't know, I don't know how kids effected your previous relationships or if your kids are even from previous relationships. Plus when you get that deep into a person's life, that has the potential of creating a firestorm on the board. So that's why I refrained.
