Well...e-file is no longer


PER ATF:

"The eForms software is not performing to our expectations. As a result, we are taking the eForms system down until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work with our industry partners to deliver a quality product. Any eForm submitted will continue to be processed. The finalized forms will be sent to the user via email.

Until the eForms system is returned to service for the industry, all imports forms (Forms 6 Part I and 6A), NFA forms (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10), and AFMER reports (Form 5300.11) must be submitted via paper, including any eForms in draft status."

My dealer:

4.4.14:

Atf last week sent a note that some places were batching their submission (silencershop) and causing the system to crash. I am sure it is related but probably just part of it.

4.6.14:

I spoke with the ATF today. They have no information on the status or expected return of efile. Anything currently submitted in efile will be processed but they are advising all new submissions to use paper until efile is back up. Again no info on when that might happen, could be this week or this month or who knows when. Anthing already submitted will be processed as either approved or rejected, if it gets rejected you will have to refile using paper and go tothe end of the line.

Current paper filing will take about 12 months. They are quoting 2 months from the date the form is received it will be entered into the system and go into a pending state and then 9 to 10 months from pending it will be reviewed and approved.

Once you have the stamp...you have the stamp. It's a one shot per instance deal. You need to KEEP a COPY of that stamp with the classIII item at all times. A range will usually ask to see it if they see a suppressor, and of course the popo

Several of my friends believe so. They refuse to pay it. But you have to pay to play, or face $10k fine, jail time, and revocation of your rights to own a firearm. (being stubborn and making your own to avoid the tax)

It's $200 per....fight it all you want. Take your stand, but as for me, I'll pay AND play This isn't the battle I'm going out in a blaze of glory over.

Incidentally..the same friends who piss and moan about the unconstitutionality of this tax are also the ones on the verge of renting a van and heading to Arizona to fight with Bundy. Again..NOT the blaze of glory I intend on going out in....not over cattle. If that's how YOU wanna go...by all means, head out there

Just talked to ATF NFA and they are advising that any eFile that was not approved prior to the system crash will now take 6 months to process. So if you have not gotten an approved form yet then it will be 6 months from submission date for eFile.
