I'm with GM. I wouldn't have even made an offer. Good luck in Cali

You run the same risk buying used from either a dealer or private seller. Used is used and you never know how the bike was treated/maintained. You just have to know what you are doing and what to look for when buying a used bike.

I think used is better from a dealer because you can slap an extended warranty on it.

Yep, that was me. What it boiled down to was I ended up eating shit on that whole deal. The dealership talked like they were helping me, but their actions (i.e. what actually happened) was I ended up trading the bike back to them for a new one and eating the cost of replacing the cracked block.

I'm still dealing with them to this day, and that whole fiasco happened almost a year ago! They called me a couple months ago and said they sold the bike and my lender hadn't sent them the title. They wanted me to go to the DMV for them and get the bike re-titled, and offered me a whopping $10 gift card for my time. I reluctantly agreed. After some thought, I figured it'll cost me more than $10 in gas to get to the dealership to spend that gift card. Screw that. I have yet to hear from them again. When I do, I'll milk them for more money for doing their legwork for them. If they refuse to sweeten the pot, I'll tell them to go pound sand, just like they did to me. I'm never setting foot in that dealership again.
