Seems to me that Big Bend is already over 100....

Humidity is much lower out there, and I could be wrong, but a lot of the area is at higher altitude too, which makes for a much different 'felt' temperature.
Right now I'm betting it still feels pretty nice out there.
Come mid-June, yeah, then it'll be proper hot.

Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels is awesome. If you want to do some riding, hill country (southwest of Austin) is the place to go.

If you come to Austin, I'll show you around.
Where do you recommend I stay while in Austin?

In my pants, but if that isn't do able then I'll recommend this place. I've been their multiple times. Stayed there last time when I went to go pick up my ER-6N.

I'd say my house, but it's packed up to move.

Romantic spot or convenient? Downtown I stay on the water. There is a great courtyard (Marriott) that is in the middle of the nightlife. And, not just the college party nightlife, but grown up nightlife.

Romantic, Blair House in Wimberly has some great cabins that are great getaway without being too far away. But, they might be booked...

Unfortunately there is no need for romantic, so I'll go for convenient and safe.

I'd stay a night in Downtown Austin, lot of good music and fun bars to walk around and see. Then head South to San Antonio and spend an afternoon and night on the Riverwalk. Lots of restaurants/bars and shopping around there along with night-life. Schlitterbahn is a fun water park in New Braunfels area to check out and SA has a 6 flags and a Seaworld.

If you want to get away from people, head to Fredericksburg or hill country and enjoy the scenic country-side.

I was never that impressed with the Stockyards and it's certainly not worth a 4 hour drive to see it IMO.

We live South of Austin a few miles but we'll be out of town for the holiday weekend or I'd say come out and play on the dirt bikes with us.

Personally, I'd skip that... unless you want to deal with a bazillion kids over the holiday weekend. But, maybe you're into that.

That's the hotel I was talking about.

I pm'd you my number, I'll be around - and even at the track on Monday if you want to come hang out.
