Ok, let's say 2 similar busa's , similar mles and condition, 1 w a factory exhaust, and 1 w a Akrapovic , which is worth more?

The bikes I listed and my busa were solid mods, not fluff. Making the bikes more worthwhile, not LEDs or custom paint.

That sv1000 I listed has ohlins fork and rear shock, marchisini wheels, what's not there to love about those mods

So it's not cut n dry

I had at least 5-7 offers on my bike within 1 day, 1 low ball, but the rest were solid, just I held out cuz I didn't need to sell the bike.

Not knocking your bike, just stated opinion. On your Busa scenario, for me, stock is preferred. Akrapovic is a very nice pipe. I don't know if the owner installed it right and had the fuel injection programmed right. Did they buy the pipe and put it on the bike on their own without fixing the injection mapping? Did they go on a busa forum and download some fancy custom map that makes the bike run too lean or too rich and fuck the motor over a couple thousand miles? How much of a premium are they assigning to these mods? Are they trying to recoup the full cost of the exhaust/wheels/shocks on top of the book value of a stock bike? These are the things that I personally look at which would drive me towards picking a stock bike over a modded bike. Those are great mods, in general, but the value that people assign to them when trying to resell their bike tends towards the ridiculous. Mods are only as valuable as the person who wants to buy the bike decides them to be. Not saying there aren't people out there looking for that setup, and in the case of better exhausts, rims, and shocks I'm sure there are a good number of shoppers, but for me and others, they add little resale value to a bike.

i would think your in the minority in the stock vs modded train of thought. now how much value, is debatable.

so your saying you'd buy the stock busa over a busa w/ an akra pipe for the same $ ? no mapping done on either.

Same price? Depends on the conditions of the bikes. If the difference is the pipe, I'd probably swing the Akra. It's when the pipe becomes the difference in price. Same year, same bike, same condition, similar mileage with the difference being the pipe, then I'm looking at what monetary value they assign to the pipe, and personally, once you throw it on the bike, you're eating most of the cost or I'd choose the stock bike.
