Those places can be brutal. My old boss was co-owner of one and every time we had clients in town, we'd go there... You gotta pace yourself. Hit the salad bar and eat - ONLY SALAD. Just one small plate to get the juices flowing in your gullet... then take one taste of every meat that comes around... skip it the 2nd time it comes around... and take a cut of your favorites when they come back. Drink a glass of wine, enjoy your company, and go back after your favorites a 3rd time. I'm pretty sure over the course of a couple of hours in that place, I've eaten 3-4lbs of meat.

The trick, I've found, for going to a churrascaria for dinner is to order the papaya cream dessert. The enzymes in the papaya help in breaking down all the meat proteins. You'll still be full as hell, but you won't be miserable for days.
