Correction to my post..........I think I DID give them a credit card in order to make my shipping address "confirmed".........But I never actually PAY for anything with my credit card. I just deposit money from my checking acct, and maintain a balance all the time.
I also never bothered signing up for Paypal's credit card. |

Ive been lucky with PayPal over the years, but I make a point not to leave any balance at all in my account because I know they can freeze your money at any time.

I hate paypal with a passion. I used to make a living reselling stuff on Ebay I got on black friday in Dallas (basically a giant swap meet). I had over $1000 in my paypal account and they decided to freeze it. The next day my ebay dues came in and they tried to pull it out of my checking account 5 times in a week causing me to overdraft 5 times ($35 x 5 = $175 in overdraft fees).I called paypal and asked why my account was frozen and there response was because they had to wait to verify the buyers were receiving the items I sold. Even though I had been using it for over a year and had 100+ positive feedback and no negative ones (before they started doing the no negative feedback thing). After explaining the overdrafts that they had caused the told me to take it up with my bank I called the bank and they said take it up with paypal. A MONTH later after the last buyer had finally left feedback they unfroze my account and took out the ebay fees. By that time I had racked up over $300 in overdraft fees because paypal wouldn't put a hold on the withdraw and my bank wouldn't block paypal because it was 'authorized' not to mention my Ebay account was frozen due to non payment.

Just made a CC payment via paypal, no problem.
I've paid over $1200 for an item on a CC with them and recieved a payment of over $800 from them and haven't had an issue yet, knock on wood.
