depends on how small your track is, give them plenty of time to scatter and do a normal warmup lap (if you dont run tire warmers) and you can get in some laps before you catch up. If you are catching them in a lap or two that should be the back markers and you should pass them easy. The real douchebags up front will take longer to catch and if it doesn't, you need to be in advanced.

Yet another reason why I eliminated B group altogether.

With the newbies - and they have to earn the right to move to the other group.

It's actually working REALLY well. Unless you're approved for Group 2, you don't get to sign up for Group2. It means, they play nice and learn the track THEN move up. We also have 30-minute sessions... with four hours a day and 20-people in 1.8 miles of track "traffic" doesn't happen often.

I think it usually depends on what they're capable of. If they can handle being passed midturn, if they can hold their line while it's happening, if they can just plainly hold their line without a major startle, if they don't continuously overbrake for turns, if they're predictable enough on the track and not taking random lines, they don't wreck? And last - speed. It's just a trackday, not a race. Therefore that's a relative in the equation.

These are all things I see based on the dividing of Elite's 2 groups, but ultimately it's up to managment and the instructors

There was an org that did 2 groups, 30 minute sessions out here for a while. That and they gave you free pizza. Everyone loved them until they ran off with everyone's money for a trackday and disappeared.

It was okay because they never had that many people there and tended to not attract the experts. This org has ~90 people per trackday, if you had two groups it'd be even a bigger fustercluck. And they're the only ones running at this particular track now.

elite sportbikes does a pretty good job with group size, sportbiketracktime does a terrible job. Nashville is about the only track I liked to do with them, because not many people like nashville, so it was never a sellout.

private track days are the best, 7 people on a track at a time = awesome.

I'm sorry, but that group looks like a so so C group. I bet that was a weekend, right?

Every Willow or Streets that I ran with Trackdaz had hella fast people in B group. That group running was slow as fuck.

I thought Parhump ran A, B and C all together, no?
