Yes, I saw that review and it kind of made me want to test drive both, before seeing it, I was just tossing the idea around.. the way it cut through the snow and how much fun it looked, made me go out and drive it yesterday.

And later if you want "moar" out of it, $2K will take you to stage 2 (and Subie dealers are mod friendly - stage 2 won't hurt our warranty if/when we do it).

We have an '07 WRX Wagon - daily driver, grocery getter, roadtrip fun, can strap shit to the roof, can put a hitch on it, can auto-x it.

In all fairness, I'm sure the same can be said for the EvoX as well (I have a couple of friends who have them, both here in FL, as well as on more "fun" roads in CA, and they rave about it as well). May come down to $$ and whatever appeals to you more physically.

I found it funny how easy it was to test drive an EVO vs an STi. I thought they would both be pretty hard, as soon as I said I had an S2000 to trade I figured they wouldn't care.

I didn't like it at first, but I'm seeing more and more cars going with that look (Vdubs, 4-Runners...)

I'm also a fan of the Subaru (two in the drive now). They go through snow pretty good. I'd have to say Erik's Outback goes slightly better because of the tires and the ground clearance, but my Legacy does good. Gets in the driveway and that is all I ever wanted. I have so much fun driving it.

It's an STi - they don't want just anyone test driving. I can't blame them for being selective. Hell, if it were me and I was looking to buy one I wouldn't want just anyone and everyone test driving it.

I considered the WRX when I was looking but it was just a little too "raw" for what I wanted (hit the turbo quick and hard). The Legacy is much more refined. Plus I couldn't see over the hood scoop of the WRX, that would require me to actually sit upright in my seat.

I think in the end no matter which car you choose, you will be happy. Just if you get the subie and mod it, do the tranny upgrade or you will be paying dearly for it.
