Well I was poking fun more at the anti-gun people who think that if we allow guns then everyone will be walking around with an AK-47 and a mini-gun.

This same thing happened to a buddy of mine. Except he didnt know the guy was in the house until he walked in on him stealing stuff. My buddy rushed the guy and the guy shot him in the arm and my friend beat the snot out of him then called the police. I think we had like 6 parties that week for him lol.

Thats probably just ignorance in journalism. The author probably wouldnt know a handgun from a shotgun either.

Automatic I can excuse as it needs a prefix to describe which action it is and by itself describes semi-auto. Id certaintly hope when I talk about my autovolver no one thinks its full auto

I agree. They should probably have a firearms course in the journalism schools since half of their stories involve them.

Though can't a cop be issued a M-16?
