Yeah, that's what the Limbsaver is on mine. That smokepole kicks like a mule, particularly with the heavy grain weight HP & SP ammo that I've had to shoot through it. Some of the old ball ammo is lighter but the range I frequent doesn't allow FMJ rifle ammo.

I don't know about the Fin re-arsenal (aka. 'captured') Russian Nagants, but the Finnish made Nagants (eg. those made byTikka) are better machined and finished.

I just got back from ordering the only thing I've ever heard my FIL say he actually WANTED. He's one of those people you have no idea what to buy because they HAVE everything...and he has more guns than anyone I know.

Ruger Single Six in .17 HMR

I'm not much into revolvers....ESPECIALLY SAO, but his mouth was watering when he was holding the 2009 gun annual at Thanksgiving and telling me about it

How could I NOT get it for him for Christmas??

Those are sweet, Troy!
I'd prefer .22LR/.22 Mag, but still...

I have a .22LR version of this pistol (well...it's HIS but he sent it with me to shoot with the boy at the range) and it's growing on me.

I had never even HEARD of .17HMR until I went at lunch to order this thing....they showed me a bullet, and holy COW...it's like a mini-.223

1680-2850 velocity on that bullet (pistol-rifle)

Check out 17 HM2 some time. I converted a Ruger 10/22 to that hot little wildcat a year ago.

The .17 HMR is a fun little plink gun or if you like to shoot squirrels or bunnies, it does the job nicely.

I thought about picking one of them up. I had a Ruger 10/22 and sold it a few years ago but wish I hadn't.

I have a little Gamo pellet rifle for popping squirrels in the back yard but the .17 would be sweet and cheap to play with too.

I can't really use the AR or SKS in the backyard.
