I was thinking more along the lines of Oblivion, Mass Effect, Dragon Age Origins, Fallout 3/New Vegas.

The old JRPG forula your talking about is pretty much dead nowadays, thankfully. Square Enix is about the last major RPG designer that is still stuck in the 1990's.

I've been hearing good things about the dc universe online that just came out... I may check it out for the Ps3

I liked 13. It wasn't my favorite, but it was fun. I'm looking forward to 13-2, but I hope they don't totally fuck the story up like 10-2.

I'm still playing 14, but not as much as it first came out.. I want to believe they can fix it. It really isn't much fun anymore since 99% of the people I started playing with has quit though, so I'm looking for alternatives.

Dragon age just looks like an offline MMO to me. I'd rather play an actual MMO.

Dragon Age is nothing like an MMO. Its an RPG with a top down strategy combat system.

i dug up crescent hawk's inception/revenge last night. nothing like some sweet mech on mech action. always loved the front missions too

Xenogears was actually cleared for release on the PSN store earlier this month, so it should be there within a couple of weeks
