So far I've just been testing out factory ammo in my RRA Predator since I'm not really set up to do hand loads yet.
I've had pretty good luck with both Prvi Match 75gr HP BT and Wolf Gold, also 75gr HP BT.
Definitely not stellar performance, but for factory ammo it's not bad. (~.70" @ 100 was my best 3 shot group of the day)
Hopefully as our ammo & reloading supply drought comes to an end I can get the stuff I need to run some decent loads.

That was W748 powder, federal bench rest small rifle primers and sierra 52 grain match bullets.

Nice.. National Match style. So you prefer lighter bullets?

The NRA High Power matches at my gun club are shot at 200 yards. The 52 grain bullets work just fine. As I get better, I'll load up some 77 grain match bullets if it's windy ( or just break out the M1 Garand )

Prone – "MR-52 target " – one minute per shot ( 20 rounds )

Two sighting shots per target are permitted.
Cuff slings are permitted.

Offhand and Rapid fire sitting are 200 yards. Off hand means standing and no use of a sling is permitted. Your sling can stay on the rifle but you may not use it.

Rapid fire prone is a reduced size target simulating 300 yards, shot at 200 yards.

Prone is simulated 600 yards, shot at 200 yards. The "X" ring for this target is 7/8" ( .875) diameter. No scopes, only iron sights .

Wow... I'd need a different rifle and a lot more skills to even attempt a match like that.
The range I currently use only allows rifles to shoot from the bench, so I haven't had a chance to practice offhand or prone.

I joined some little hick gun club ( $15 a year ) near one of my shooting buddy's house.

First time there I have a bolt action .270 Wby, my M1 Garand and my ruger super redhawk in .44 mag.

Same deal, shooting from a seated position on the bench. 100 yards was one station and the others were 50 yards.

My .270 made really big splashes where the bullets hit, so I switched to the garand. Same thing

Shooting the handgun from a seated position sucked because it was set up for rifles.

First and last time I shot there.

Their rifle range is 50, 100, 200, and 300.
But yes, all seated. I think it's a 'safety' thing, just like that damnable "no FMJ ammo for rifles" policy which seems to be becoming more and more prevalent.

It's a good place for sighting in, testing loads, and working on your benchrest grouping. The stuff I normally do.
Their pistol & shotgun ranges aren't too bad either.

If I were to develop an interest in other shooting practices (tactical/IPSC or NRA), I'd have to do some research and see where those guys shoot.
