That's fine, what's paid for STAYS and is maintained by the independent sovereign "state" of TX. Since Texans paid the federal taxes they are entitled to the roads as well as the equipment IN Texas used to maintain them. They will however have to pay TEXANS who want to be there to maintain them with the NEW Texas taxes

Step Two: No more FBI, Disaster relief, or Coast Guard. Fuck you, buy your own boats.

Not quite...as said above, what's PAID for by Texans in federal taxes has paid for the boats. However, from this point forward Texas would be required to MAN the boats, and maintain them, however.... Texans paid taxes to HAVE the boats. The FBI can GTFO and STAY out

Step Three: Immediate closure of all US Military bases. All troops will be redeployed to AMERICA.

As stated in both previous statements. The TROOPS need to GTFO of Texas, but the BASE and all of the equipment/weapons were purchased with money TEXANS paid, so it shall remain in Texas

Step Four: The immediate termination of all Federal land grants and Oil Leases. Feel free to drill all you want on private property.

Nothing goes in OR OUT of Texas...Agreed!

I could go on, but at this point Texas would be entirely fucked anyway.

OR they could end up just fine on their own and have more than Mexicans swarming over their walls.

Correction, Texas bases were paid for by ALL Americans, not just Texans.

And Texas taxpayers paid for ALL bases, not just the ones in Texas.

The only way your proposal would be fair, is if the ratio of military firepower & capabilities per person was identical in each state. But it isn't. Some states like Illinois or New York have a ton of people, but low military capabilities.

Under your proposal, states with aircraft carriers and nuclear weapons depots would get to keep them. Ain't gonna happen.

OK, Nebraska and Arizona can have the carriers, and Tennessee can have the destroyers

So in Texas's case, if they were to go all sovereign I'm going to assume it will be treated as a hostile act. There would be data\equipment that would have to be destroyed if it were deemed classified or of critical.
Texas's contribution to the remaining states of the union would have to be sourced elsewhere (manufacturing, agricultural). Probably kick off major public works programs to compensate the loss of Texas.
Texas isn't exactly listed in NAFTA.

Containment policy on Texas in full effect. Limited Trade. Play the UN cards in full.
Big ole power house Texas is now prohibited from free trade with the largest economy in the world. Eventually the theocratic republic of Texas is back on friendly terms with the United States.

Then Oklahoma seceeds and the great border war begins. Mississippi and Louisiana end up invaded by Georgia following a dispute over water supplies and Texas attempts a land grab.
This carnage results in the discovery of the alien space ship who then unleash Grimlock the transformer who grimlock the fuck out of everyone.

Sorry Troy, but "you" don't own shit. American tax dollars from all 50 states paid for that stuff. If you didn't want or need it, you should have stayed in.

As President, I would drop the biggest fucking hammer I could find on you. I'm obligated by oath, to protect my country from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

If I were President, I would have no other choice than to make an example of you. Anything else could result in a second civil war, and the country can't afford that bullshit right now.

As the state seceding, you're in a piss poor position to negotiate terms.

There would be no negotiation.....what I stated before would be "assumed Texas'" and everything TAKEN right then and there.

Now..of COURSE this would never work....it's preposterous. But I HAD to at least level the playing field somewhat

Maybe Texas leaving could fix our economy. You might be on to something Paul.

A for effort.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to order the carpet bombing of every square inch of Federal highway in Texas.

OK Texas, ( I'm picking on Texas because they keep talking about this) here's the deal:

Step One: All Federal financial support ends now. Goodbye SS, Medicare, Highway funding, corporate subsidies (including agriculture) and everything else.

Step Two: No more FBI, Disaster relief, or Coast Guard. Fuck you, buy your own boats.

Actual Step One - Immediate repayment of their portion of the national debt.
